Lansdell Suite

The Lansdell Suite is modern private patient facility, based within the main maternity unit at St Thomas’ Hospital which has been consistently rated as the best performing maternity unit in London. Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals are two of London’s most well known teaching hospitals which have been at the forefront of medical innovation and clinical care since they were founded about 900 years ago. Both hospitals have a reputation for excellence in patient care and have been consistently rated as one of the best performing hospitals by the Healthcare Commission in the UK.

The Lansdell Suite provides a relaxed and secure environment for mothers and babies with 24 hours consultant and midwifery support. The facility contains six spacious rooms with en-suite facilities and is equipped with all modern amenities. Each room has a baby cot so that the baby stays with the mother all the time. Family and friends can visit at any time.

All women and babies on Lansdell Suite have access to the medical facilities in the main hospital which includes ultrasound services, modern obstetric operating theatres, Special Care Baby Unit and Neonatal and adult Intensive Care Unit 24 hours a day, if needed. The special care baby unit has level three intensive care facilities which means it has the infrastructure and skilled staff to care for very preterm and sick babies. The birthing rooms on the Birth Centre are single, en-suite, with modern delivery beds and state of the art equipment to monitor mother and the baby in labour. The unit offers 24 hours mobile epidural service which is provided by consultant anaesthetists.
