Coronavirus and Covid-19
Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultations during Covid 19 pandemic
Safety of our patients is of paramount importance and we are taking steps to minimise risk to our patients in line with the guidance from Public Health England.
Hygiene
Hand hygiene is extremely important to reduce risk of coronavirus infection and alcohol based hand sanitisers will be provided in the clinic.
The surfaces of equipment and furniture will be wiped with Clinelle wipes after each patient visit to avoid contamination.
Only the patient will be allowed to attend the consultation. If you are attending for a pregnancy consultation, your partner/husband will be able to join the consultation by phoning in or by facetime. This arrangement is likely to change in due course once the restrictions ease.
Social distancing
A safe distance will be maintained between patients in the waiting area and between doctor and patient.
The health professionals will wear a mask, plastic apron and gloves when carrying out consultation and examination.
Virtual Consultations
Where appropriate we will be able to provide virtual consultations by video or telephone to patients who do not wish to travel and want to avoid exposure to a clinical environment.
Following the consultation we will be able to arrange blood tests and ultrasound scan if necessary and deliver any medicines to you through our online pharmacy service.
For information about charges for consultations, see here.
